I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.

He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit

And born of the Virgin Mary.

He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again.

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

The holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

I believe in one God,

begotten of the Father before all ages,

light from light,

true God from true God,

begotten, not created,

of the same essence as the Father,

came down from the heavens

and was made flesh from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary,

and became man,

and was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate,

and suffered and was buried,

and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures,

and ascended into the heavens,

and sits at the right hand of the Father,

and comes again with glory to judge the living and the dead,

of whose kingdom there shall be no end;

and [I believe] in the Holy Spirit,

the Lord and the life-giver,

who proceeds from the Father,

who with the Father and the Son

is worshiped and glorified together,

who spoke through the prophets;

[and I believe] in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

I look for the resurrection of the dead

and the life of the age to come.
